Rick
Riley began his building career in 1976 as a Union carpenter for
a major metropolitan building company in St. Louis Missouri, on
single family homes. He completed the AFL-CIO apprenticeship program,
and in 1980 became a Journeyman Carpenter serving in the capacity
of Crew Foreman. In 1984 Rick was promoted to General Carpenter
Foreman serving in the capacity of overseeing up to forty carpenters.
Over
these years Rick's skills grew in not only carpentry, but the supervisory
aspect of building. In 1987 he was made Construction Superintendent
of single family homes and condominiums in six separate communities.
This led to the most dramatic change in Rick's career.
To take his years of field knowledge into the management side of
the home building business. In 1990 he became Project Manager of
various residential communities ranging from 60-200 homes.
In 1991 Rick was asked to focus his experience in
a new market and became Project Manager of the Illinois Residential
Division. He was responsible for the reorganization and management
of three Communities.
For many years Rick has expressed the desire to build
quality homes. He quickly fell in love with Southern Illinois, and
it provided a perfect place to fulfill his dream. In 1994 he formed
Riley Homes Inc. A company devoted to the construction of quality
upscale homes. Along with a new company, he quickly became involved
with the local Home Builders Association, and has served as the
president of the organization for two years. His goal is to provide
his customers the very best in new home construction, with quality
built into every price range home he builds.
